What is Tree for Mercy Foundation (TFMF)?
Tree for Mercy Foundation (TFMF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to tree planting, water conservation, and sustainable livelihood programs across Sri Lanka. We aim to restore ecosystems while empowering local communities.
Is TFMF a registered organization?
Yes. TFMF is officially registered with the Registrar of Companies in Sri Lanka as a guarantee limited organization.
What is the connection between TFMF and Citigardens?
TFMF is an initiative supported by Citigardens, which began environmental tree planting as a CSR project in 2010. Citigardens provides technical support and expertise for plant production and irrigation systems.
What regions do you operate in?
We have ongoing and completed projects across 14+ districts, including large-scale planting in Mannar, Gampola, Mawanella, and Nawalapitiya.
What types of trees do you plant?
We plant a variety of shade, fruit, and timber trees — including coconut, mango, jackfruit, cashew, khaya, and various native shade trees.
