Environmental Impact
Planting trees to combat climate change, restore ecosystems, and provide sustainable resources for future generations.
Tree for Mercy Foundation (TFMF)
Tree for Mercy Foundation (Guarantee) Limited is a not-for-profit environmental initiative restoring ecosystems, supporting rural livelihoods, and promoting sustainable agriculture across Sri Lanka.
Founded by Hilru M. Siddeeque and supported by Citigardens — Technology for Green Growth, TFMF works with government agencies, private nurseries, and local communities to implement high-impact tree planting and water-access programs. We have distributed 100,000+ plants, constructed 285+ community wells, and launched major initiatives such as the Coconut Boom Campaign, 10,000 Jackfruit Program in Musali, and rootballed tree planting for rapid urban greening.
Our transparent cost-plus model ensures responsible donor participation while supporting long-term maintenance by planters and caretakers. With a vision to plant one tree per person in Sri Lanka — 22 million trees annually, TFMF is building a greener and more sustainable future for all.

Three pillars of change for a sustainable Sri Lanka
Planting trees to combat climate change, restore ecosystems, and provide sustainable resources for future generations.
Constructing wells to provide reliable clean water sources for communities in need across rural Sri Lanka.
Supporting farmers, schools, and families with livelihood programs and transparent service delivery.
A systematic, transparent approach to community development
We identify areas with the greatest need for environmental restoration and water access, working directly with local communities.
Our team designs custom solutions—from tree species selection to well placement—ensuring maximum impact and sustainability.
Every project is documented with photos, receipts, and progress reports shared with donors for complete transparency.
We maintain relationships with communities, providing ongoing guidance and monitoring to ensure lasting positive change.
From Musali to Mannar to Ampara, we're planting trees, providing water, and empowering communities with transparent, compassionate service.
